Hi Udayanga,

this project is about improving the data sources for XWiki Watch, which is
currently using data from RSS feeds.
We would like, first of all, to perfect RSS data collection (to be able to
extract more content from the feed source, to detect duplicates, etc) and,
more,
we would like to be able to integrate other data sources such as:
- extracting data from plain HTML pages (using semantic markup methods or just
plain scraping). This would allow the user to add a random HTML page as an
article in XWiki Watch.
- being able to add an office document to XWatch as an article, using XWiki
office importer plugin
- being able to hook XWatch to an email account so that it reads data from
emails sent to that address (for reading mailing lists, for example)
- anything you can think of that would allow integration of content used in
watch activities in XWiki Watch.

The requirements of this project are, obviously, flexible and so is the
execution. Depending on the proposal and vision about the project, the tasks
can
be limited or extended in the direction the student would like to pursue.

Happy coding,
Anca Luca
