As Eduard said, just checkout the 4 projects (org.xwiki.eclipse.core, ...rcp, ...ui, ...xmlrpc) in your workspace and:
1) If you want to run the RCP version, click the org.xwiki.eclipse.rcp project with the second mouse button and choose "Run As > Eclipse Application" (or "Debug As > Eclipse Application" if you want to debug). The RCP standalone version will popup. 2) If you want to run the UI version, click on org.xwiki.eclipse.ui project and choose, again, "Run As > Eclipse Application". A new workbench will start and you will find XEclipse views by choosing the "Window > Show View > Other" menu item. I just tried the previous setup with the latest Eclipse (3.4.2) and everything works fine. Please feel free to ask more questions if you need help.
