Great Chathura,

I'd be very happy to mentor you on the survey project.

The first thing that I've been thinking of is that we should try to
first take a lighter task than full survey.
We should start by doing the Document Type Manager. It is more general
than a survey and does not initially need to reporting.
We should then build the Survey Manager on top of the Document Type Manager.

I've started to create some mockups for the Document Type Manager
http://incubator.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Mockups/DocumentTypeManager

I suggest we discuss them on the list and enhance them until we have a
clear idea of how the UI would be, and how the Survey Manager would
derive from the Document Manager.
Maybe there will be different code, maybe we'll be able to have them
share the same code (that would be ideal).
In my view a survey is just a specific type of "document type" with
additional options for launching the survey and reporting it.

If this is fine with you, I think we should follow the same process as
other GSocers. You should do the community bonding period.
This means discuss with the team your project here but more importantly
get used to the XWiki platform and code.
You need to install XWiki and takeover some simple bugs from JIRA that
are related to the technologies used in your project.

Sergiu would you have some bugs that are velocity/xwiki classes based ?
