The advanced button at the top is to expand all rows at once. I am a little bit disappointed by your experience. From all the previous proposal, this one as been chosen for their ease of use, and its similarity with the current interface, which will easy transition. Obviously, between this prototype and the final result, you should have a better feeling since all interaction will be in. Regarding the yellow background, I think that their should be two different colors: one for the row background on hover and one for the background of what has been changed without being saved. > Once you understand it, the UI makes sense.
