Do you really need to build with M2Eclipse ? I find using console to do plain mvn install a lot easier unless you are on Windows maybe. IMO the point of using M2Eclipse is to be integrated into Eclipse, I never need to build a project when using M2Eclipse since Eclipse give me the java error and I can run unit tests directly from Eclipse too, I even have checkstyle thanks to eclipse-cs.
