Hi, The homepage is relevant in the context of the "5 minutes" experience. We have to make it very clear on what "5 minutes" we are talking about. Also the separation between XE and XEM needs to be made because they are not the same thing.
XEM I struggled to install XEM (finding out what file to download, installing mysql, starting xem, changing the max allowed packet, importing, etc). Then I didn't know how to create a new wiki (expected to see it in the Add menu). It's very clear that XEM process (installing and using) has lots of things to be improved and the most important thing is to make also a separation on the persona we are covering (the beginner user? the administrator? are normal users gonna create new wikis (workspaces)?) XEM homepage can be made for admins and provide statistics or it can be exactly as XE (end user will not know the difference) and have the wiki management in administration. XE XE homepage was somehow pimped with the new dashboard system. The current content of the homepage is suitable, would need maybe some more discoverability to show the user he can actually customize the homepage any way he likes. I really believe that we need some kind of "getting started" step (documentation or guided or a layered tips system activated on certain time + events).
