Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me as I've tried to obtain help from the
Xwiki Users list but didn't work?

After an upgrade from my old version of Xwiki which was 2.x (I think I
built it in 2010) to 3.1.1 I ended up seeing this as my admin panel:

In comparison with my old Xwiki instance this doesn't look right.

Looks like you have a custom skin based on Toucan. Well, in the meantime the Toucan CSS has changed a bit, you should integrate those changes back into your skin.

Generally, it's a bad idea to copy and modify the base skin, you should include it from your CSS and override the things you want changed. This way it will be easier to upgrade.

Thanks Sergiu for the response.

Initially I did the modification (which I found through xwiki.org) which stated to modify the .css file within the skin itself. $XWIKI/skins/toucan/css

so what I will do now to clean up is copy the original Xwiki 3.1.1 toucan skin into my Xwiki instance then attempt to use the Admin panel to re-add the background and right-background images back into the toucan skin.

I'm not sure how to do this even though I have done it with the logo.
-for that there was provisioning within the Admin Panel saying: Logo - then the image could be uploaded into the DB and engaged from there; while the method I took was to add the files into the toucan skin folder within webapps/Xwiki

--Actually on second thoughts it would be better as you suggested to create a new skin then make the modifications there by copying the original xwiki 3.1.1 toucan skin. {if possible}

Ok, lot's of work ahead of me but at least I know where I stand and also that my DB isn't corrupted - few all that hard work too :-)

Regards,

Kaya
