Hi,

+1 from my side too.

In this case I think it should not be just a day, but the whole
week-end. Could be just like we had before: the 'first' week-end of
the month.
The participation might be low, but at least we could have it as a
'rule'. If we have results over that week-end, we publish a blog post
about them.

Just as an idea, we could also monitor translations, extensions, pull
requests, etc. submitted over that week-end, so make it not just a
BugFixingDay but a "Contributions Week-end". I know it might sound
strange for an Open Source project (because contributions should
happen every day), but this means just that those contributions would
be monitored and published in a blog post, thanking our contributors
and allowing them to organize on IRC.

Thanks,
Caty
