Such a library offer the services, or support for, OAuth or other federated authentication mechanisms. And it seems it does it at least as client, so that is rather appropriate.
One question: would this allow other services, running behind the same address/proxy to also employ authentication? Shiro-powered services, probably, right? What about, say, an XMPP server? Another CMS? A video server?
