The Save Our Species Alliance is no grassroots campaign of environmentalists. It's an Orwellian Newspeak front for big-business interests seeking to gut the Endangered Species Act.
If you look up the domain name for saveourspeciesalliance.org at http://www.internic.net/whois.html you'll find that it is registered to James Sims of Policy Communications, Inc.
Sims is a right-wing lobbyist, whose web bio brags that he was "former Director of Communications for President George W. Bush's National Energy Policy Task Force and a former Chief of Staff to a U.S. Senator. Jim now serves as Executive Director of the Western Business Roundtable and Executive Vice President of Partnership for the West."
Sims' clients are, for the most part, huge corporations - - with names like Calpine, Dow Chemical, Monsanto, and Unocal. http://www.policycommunications.com/ourclients.htm
Among his organization's proudest "successes":
