Subject: Some good news to share.
Hi Phil:
I wanted to share a bit of good news that was recently published in
our
local newspaper (Las Vegas Review Journal) yesterday regarding Jon
Sjoberg, a long-standing DFC member.
Jon was just named a 2007 National Recovery Champion by the U.S. Fish
and Wildlife Service for his work in recovering threatened and
endangered species in the United States. He is one of only 16
recipients
selected nationwide for the award. As you probably know Jon has been a
fisheries biologist with the Nevada Dept. of Wildlife since 1980;
he is
currently the Fisheries Supervisor for Southern Nevada and he has
had a
particular focus on recovering nongame fish since 1989.
This might be something worth sharing with the other members of the
Council. It signifies a high level of achievement and is a well-
deserved
award. Congratulations to him.
Best regards,
Bill
