Just sharing my point of view,
In point of view, Buddhism is an ultimate Science of Mind.
Since an action is preceded by a will (cetana), by analyzing and controlling the mind, we gain control of thoughts, speech and actions too. Therefore we can have skillful actions that lead to better life quality.

Dear All,We all aware that Buddhism is not a religion. Buddhism is a teaching, is a way of life, taught by the Buddha..Buddha Gautama to be exact. So, do we need religion in this life? After listening to Chief Rev K Sri Dhammananda CD recently...I realised that we donot need religion in this life. Religion by definition means dependent on god..As our concept on god differs with other religions, as a Buddhist we do not need religion. What we need is the guidance towards this life.....how to lead a meaningful life....how to gain happiness in this life.We donot believe on external super power that control everythings....we believe that all external things are within our control....by our own Karma..be it good karma or bad karma. It is our actions that determine our lives. So, if we need HEAVEN...just do good deeds...conversely if you cultivate bad deeds ( speech, body action, mind) you would definitely awarded with HELLOur actions determine our lives....We create our own destiny through our KarmaMay all beings be well, happy and healthyRudy__________________________________________________
