Hi all,
Is there a way to globally exclude serving systems based on the OID portion of
the MAC address? What I want to avoid is having to list all the MACs of the
systems I *don't* want to serve.
The problem here is that engineers are constantly testing our product out on
the network. These systems are requesting DHCP services, but are supposed to
get served by a local DHCP server which is correctly configured to serve them.
For some reason, the ISC server is faster to respond despite being 2 router
hops away than the Win95 garbage the engineers are using. Since these systems
are expecting to also be served a boot image, they are continually crashing
when the don't receive it from my server. (i.e. it's my fault their having
problems, because my server works too well ;)
Since I know the OID portion of these system's MAC addresses, I'd like to be
able to write an exclude rule for them so my server just ignores the requests
from these devices. Is this possible? How would I do it?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
