I'm probably going to actually cut a 3.0 release with close to the
current feature set, precisely to help people in your situation. A
lot of the cool new features scheduled for 3.0 will go in 3.1
instead (e.g., DNS updates, server control socket, safe failover).
In fact, I will probably do a new minor version for each major new
feature.
The DHCP server has been experiencing very slow version number growth
in the past year and a half due to lack of time, but at least for the
moment, thanks to the generosity of a number of kind people, I have
some time to make major inroads into the todo list. The next 3.0
snapshot will actually lose the BUGS section of the README because
everything listed there has been dealt with!
