It has a tendency to pick addresses on the 168.xxx.xxx.xxx network
that aren't anything to do with what your DHCP server sends, if that's
what you're asking about. If you see it do that, it's because it
can't contact the DHCP server for some reason, so it's autoconfiguring
itself.
