Hello,
i have a little problem with dhclient.
dhclient does not pass the hostname option correctly to the dhclient-script.
It passes the option as Hexnumbers instead of a string.
A dump of the environment variables from inside dhclient-script showed the
following:
new_routers=129.187.160.254
new_dhcp_renewal_time=3600
new_netbios_name_servers=129.187.160.6
new_network_number=129.187.160.0
new_broadcast_address=129.187.160.255
new_dhcp_rebinding_time=6300
new_expiry=925211261
new_domain_name=bl.physik.tu-muenchen.de
new_ip_forwarding=false
new_netbios_node_type=8
new_dhcp_message_type=5
new_domain_name_servers=129.187.160.7 129.187.160.10
new_host_name=62:61:67:68:65:65:72:61
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This should have been the string
"bagheera", the hex values are correct.
new_dhcp_lease_time=7200
new_subnet_mask=255.255.255.0
new_nis_domain=Bl-Cluster
new_ip_address=129.187.160.81
new_dhcp_server_identifier=129.187.160.6
new_netbios_dd_server=129.187.160.6
I'm not that firm with the sourcecode, so I didn't find what have to be
changed, but I could patch it if somebody gives me a hint.
