Still running dhcp-2.0b1pl8 here, mainly serving win95 (B) clients.
These request a lease of about 6 minutes only. So if my DHCP
server goes down, they finally disconnect from the net after
about 12 minutes.
My dhcpd.conf allows for longer leases:
default-lease-time 600;
max-lease-time 7200;
but I think they just don't care.
How can I force them to use some other timeout?
How do you backup a DHCP server? I could run a second one for
the fixed addresses, but for the dynamic pool there will be problems?
