Hello,
I'm using Michael Anthon's patch for DHCP-DNS interaktion but it doesn't
seem to work. The DHCP server seems to assign addresses the way it
should. When I use nslookup to ask about an address with a name I get
the correct respons. But when I ask for the name using an address I get:
*** dhcp-dns.domain can't find xx.xx.x.xx: Server failed
The DHCP log file shows the following information:
Jun 16 10:34:00 dhcp-dns dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for xx.xx.x.xx from
00:c0:4f:82:b1:ab via eth0
Jun 16 10:34:00 dhcp-dns dhcpd: add succeeded: host.domain. IN A
xx.xx.x.xx
Jun 16 10:34:00 dhcp-dns dhcpd: cleaning all PTR RRs for
xx.x.xx.xx.in-addr.arpa.
Jun 16 10:34:00 dhcp-dns dhcpd: add failed: xx.x.xx.xx.in-addr.arpa. IN
PTR domain.host
Jun 16 10:34:00 dhcp-dns dhcpd: DHCPACK on xx.xx.x.xx to
00:c0:4f:82:b1:ab via eth0
Jun 16 10:34:00 dhcp-dns named[6161]: ns_req: no address for root server
Jun 16 10:34:00 dhcp-dns named[6161]: ns_req: no address for root server
I also get the error message: RR format error.
Can anyone help me with this problem?
