Another way (non-standard, but within the protocol) you can do this is to
add a site specific option (I guess this qualifies) which feeds a comma
separated list of domain names out from the server.  Of course, it is up to
the receiving side to correctly treat these as "a list of domain names", so,
hopefully you have source for your client, and hopefully your target tcp
stack (or bind, whatever) is capable of dealing with this.
