I'm using kernel 2.2.10 with two 3Com 3C509 NICs. eth0 is
assigned one of our real ip #s and eth1 is assigned 172.16.1.1.
I am attempting to have dhcpd (dhcp-2.0.tar.gz dated 06/22/99) assign 172
numbers from eth1.
So, if I start dhcpd ( -d -f -cf filefor172#s.conf) with eth1 as the interface the
screen says it is Listening on and Sending on eth1 but no clients get 172 #s
and no communication is indicated on screen after dhcpd starts.
If I down dhcpd & the eth1 interface, create eth0:0 with 172.16.1.1, then restart
dhcpd with eth0 as the interface, clients start getting 172 #s.
What needs to be added/changed to have this work. What am I
missing, failing to understand. Thanks in advance, Ashe Coutts
