*** From dhcp-server -- To unsubscribe, see the end of this message. *** Ted, I am seeing a strange phenomenon when I do a trace from a DHCP client to the server. I am using DHCP v2.0 and the clients have to be helpered through a router to get to the server. When the 4 packet exchange occurs and the client begins with the DHCPDISCOVER, the client sends from port 68 to port 67 which is correct. Then when the server responds, it sends from port 67 to destination of port 67 and the packet contains a message saying "UNKNOWN OPCODE - ALL REPLIES MUST BE SENT TO PORT 68". This happens when the server sends the ACK packet as well. The client does receive it's address correctly. Is this something to do with the fact that the server is actually sending the reply back to the router and then it is forwarded on to the client or is there something very wrong here? Jill K.
