Subject: address not being allocated

hi Allusing perfdhcp to test my kea-DHCP, while trying to produce DHCP
requests via VLAN interfaces, the address allocation process dont end
successfully.in DHCP log I see all sessions end with "DHCP4_LEASE_ADVERT"
message and no allocation accurse.while using perfdhcp without VLAN the
allocation accrues successfully.while using vlan interface with single
dhcp client (netplan not prefdhcp) allocation to the vlan interface is
successful.so it seems like when using vlan interface with perfdhcp the
client doesn't claim the offered address. basically, I'm a bit lost here,
so if someone has any idea what is happing here, it will be awesome. i
hope I'm just missing an option in my perfdhcp command and not a
limitation.attached debug log of the fail transaction.thanks

Hi Ahiya,

You're asking your questions on the wrong list unfortunately. dhcp-users
is all about the older ISC DHCP server.

Looking at https://www.isc.org/mailinglists/ I'd say kea-users or maybe
kea-dev is going to put your question in front of the right group of
people.

Now, based on my knowledge of the old server and having no knowledge of
Kea, I can see two things that might not be right. First up declaring
your reservations inside the subnet and secondly declaring IP addresses
that are in the pool of addresses to be allocated.

I think someone on the kea-users list is going to give you a far better
answer.

regards,
Glenn

Hi Ahiya,

No problem. By the time the rest of us here move to Kea, you'll be the
expert answering our questions, so this is paying it forward :)

Glenn
