I come to think of an earlier thread where some printers were described that would only accept a lease of more than IIRC one year - this could be one of those. My favorite one of these that I?ve had to deal with was where the network might be larger than /24, but if the device had been assigned a x.x.x.0 or x.x.x.255 address ? the networking stack would choke. Or (if feeling malicious), feed the damn printer bad network settings until it stops asking your server for them? andrew.
