Thanks a lot for this bug report, Leif-Arne.
It is exactly the kind of findings and messages I'd like to see from the
whole Indian team (who I trust are now actively testing the DHIS 2 Beta),
especially the super-users/implementers. Having such reports in Trac like
you did is the ideal way of reporting, but I also very much welcome postings
directly to this list ([email protected]), especially when it includes
workarounds, like in your case. And we are course also very happy to see
further testing from the VN team, who have already carried out systematic
testing of parts of the new functionality.

The data-element field feature added to FCKEditor has several problems.
These are severe enough that creating new forms is quite difficult.
== Problems found (using Firefox) ==
* With a data element the end of a line, getting past it to add more text
or another line is difficult. After pressing End, the cursor ends up in
the text box rather than after it. This happens:
* (as mentioned) pressing End with the data element at the end of the
line
* using Left Arrow or Right Arrow to navigate past a sequence of data
dimensions
* When the cursor is in the data element text box, text gets added to the
text box. Deleting, however, deletes the entire text box. (I assume that
the cursor should not be allowed into the text box in the first place.)
* After accidentally deleting the text box according to the buggy
behaviour above, Undo won't bring it back. (Undo after deleting it the
normal way works fine.)
== Workaround ==
Enter all text before and after the fields before you insert them. When
using multiple dimensions, insert only one field at a time.
