Jackson 2.2.x bug with deserializing XML

Bug description:
We want to upgrade to Jackson 2.2.x, but currently a bug in Jackson
makes our deserializing end up in a cyclic loop. We need to find out
what causes this, and report back to Jackson so it can be fixed.
