A few months ago I promised to share some DHIS2 tools that our team at LogicalOutcomes have been developing as part of our 'DHIS2 Quick Start' implementations. We have now posted the first ones on our Github repository! In the next few weeks, we will add brief videos that will walk through each of the tools, and will keep adding new tools as we build them in collaboration with our clients and partners. My colleague Sara Gaudon will share updates when they are ready. DHIS2 Online Learning Notebook (https://github.com/LogicalOutcomes/dhis2-templates/wiki/DHIS2-Online-Learning-Notebook) We have developed an Online Learning OneNote Notebook that will guide students through implementing and managing a DHIS2 instance. The curriculum is adapted from training materials from Level 1, and Level 2 of the DHIS2 Academy workshops*. We give our thanks to the University of Oslo, and the sponsoring Health Information System Programs, for sharing the reference materials (for DHIS2 versions 2.20 and 2.21), presentations, and assignments, on which much of this curriculum is based. The curriculum uses Microsoft OneNote, a free application, and includes video tutorials and assignments for each unit. We see it as being complementary to the upcoming DHIS2 Online Academy by the University of Oslo. Our materials have been designed to take a student through the process of creating a simple DHIS2 instance and at the same time learn the basics of DHIS2. This curriculum is part of our DHIS2 Quick Start approach. During the process of creating a DHIS2 instance, we provide weekly coaching sessions and lots of support so that by the end of the project, organization staff can expand and revise their DHIS2 system on their own. However, we think that this curriculum could be used on its own. We'd love feedback. We plan to improve the training materials and post updates after each Quick Start project. DHIS2 Data Import Tool (https://github.com/LogicalOutcomes/dhis2-templates/wiki/DHIS2-Data-Import-Tool) This DHIS2 application enables the importing of data from Excel spreadsheets. It was developed by HISP Uganda. While the DHIS2 Data Import Tool has been customized for specific client needs (it is not generic), you are welcome to download and reuse the source code, to improve or develop your own version of the import tool. Future versions of the tool will be posted in Github.
