Hi all, we have now updated hiskenya.org with a Beta version of DHIS 2.3. The stable release will be out on this Friday.
It is recommended to clear the browser cache to see the latest changes. On chrome paste this into the address field and click "clear browsing data": chrome://settings/advanced A quick summary of the new features: - Improved speed: We have generally made most operations in the system faster (in technical terms: we have added caching, asynchronous loading of lists and use of in-memory databases to speed up the system). - Removed all popups and replaced them with dialogs (which block the user from doing something else before closing). We have learned that popups are confusing for inexperienced users so we have removed them. E.g. try clicking on one of the charts in the dashboard: http://hiskenya.org/dhis-web-dashboard-integration/index.action - GIS module has a new Symbol layer. Go to GIS - then click "Symbol layer" at the right bottom, then e.g. boundary and select "Coast" and "Facility level", then select "Ownership" as the group set, then zoom in on the map to Coast region. It will display one icon for each type of ownership for all the facilities. Which icon belongs to each type (group) can be seen under the selection boxes in the left panel. (Note you must have cleared the browser cache!) http://hiskenya.org/dhis-web-mapping/mapping/index.html - District users can now assign organisation units to groups themselves. - District users are allowed to create new users with less authorities than themselves. - Last login date is registered for users and can be seen in the details window in the user list. - You can now create charts directly based on data elements. This is useful for pie charts, as an example have a look at the "Family Planning Methods" chart: http://hiskenya.org/dhis-web-reporting/viewChart.action?id=57491 - Dataset Report can be exported to PDF and Excel. In the Excel workbook each section gets its own sheet: http://hiskenya.org/dhis-web-dashboard-integration/index.action - The indicator formulas can contain "number of days in aggregation period", which is useful e.g. for bed utilization analysis. - Data entry forms can have running totals by including indicators in the data set, this will also be available in the data set reports. Its good if you can have a look at the new functionalities, I have put the Beta version on the server now so we have time to incorporate changes based on your feedback:) regards, Lars
