What happens is this: It tries to look up Helvetica as TT or T1 font. If that fails, it tries to use the standard (built-in) translation from the PostScript font set to common TT fonts. For Helvetica-Bold, it uses Numbus Sans L, Bold. If that fails, it tries Courier. If that fails, it gives an error, but unfortunately goes right on to use the NULL font pointer. I should try just any font, then return NULL if it fails. -Lars -- Lars Clausen (http://shasta.cs.uiuc.edu/~lrclause)| Hrdgrim of Numenor "I do not agree with a word that you say, but I |---------------------------- will defend to the death your right to say it." | Where are we going, and --Evelyn Beatrice Hall paraphrasing Voltaire | what's with the handbasket? _______________________________________________ Dia-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/dia-list
