please don't bother to rebuild 0.88.1; especially, there are a couple
problems with building the documentation (google up the archives). If you
really want to rebuild 0.88.1, edit the top-level Makefile.am, and remove
the subdirectory "doc" from the SUBDIRS clause (and then, re-autogen)
It would be wonderful if you spent your time testing 0.90.RC3 instead,
though!
