Steffen, thanks for helping. Yes, I'm using 0.96.1, from the Ubuntu 
distribution. I've installed programs from source before, but I was hoping for 
a quick fix. I'll see if I can tackle this in the next couple of days.

I assume that you are using Dia 0.96.1. The next version of Dia (0.97)
will provide a much smaller UML class dialog.

If you want, you can test the new version. It's currently only
available from the SVN repository (you'll have to compile
it yourself).
