Hello.
My name is bjornar and I live in Norway. I just downloaded dia for
testing it, cause I should have done some work, but I saw dia on
freshmeat and tought that was a good enough excuse for delaying my
work for some time. Version 0.81 btw.
It is something wrong with the move tool. It acts strange. Another
thing that should be fixed is a way of setting the sizes on figure
the tools create as default (before you drag the mouse to rescale)
spesific for each tool. This way it would be simpler to place the
figures faster and w/o resizing. Look for example in the "Network"
tab where the modem is three times bigger than the monitor..
Another thing I like is the snap to grid and the object connection
stuff. Some objects has strange/no connection poings tho, but that
can be fixed real easy I guess.. hasnt had time to look at it yet.
The only "bug" I can see in this is that if you have setup Dia to
"snap to grid" you cant connect objects where the connection-point
isnt _on_ the current gridline.
I Maby the text also should have a connection point that placed on
different places decided by what text-justification you have on
the current figure.. or no.. guess that was too stupid. But some
connection points would be great.
It should also be possible to connect objects directly, so I dont
have to have a line between them. I like the solution that if you
move the line that connects the connection is open, but if you do
it with the object the connection is closed. The problem here will
only appear if you can connect objects. A good solution then would
be to make a shift-drag for "open" drag and if you dont shift-drag
the connections are closed.
Hmm.. I dont have much more to say now.. I have just used Dia for
maby 5 minutes. Thanks for a great product tho, and I`ll send you
a new mail if I see more things that could be changed.
