My name is Gerald Garcia, i am french and i have discovered Dia recently.
This is a great piece of software, congratulations !
I am developping a code extractor from a UML design (the
target is a Rational Rose like software, but i am far from this point... ;-) ).
I think that Dia could be used as the graphic editor for it (alone, or
integrated as a widget or something like that), but to do this
i need the semantic of the diagram and not only the representations
(like in SVG). The OMG has release a specification about XMI
which is a format based on XML to exchange UML diagrams.
Do you have heard about XMI ? Have you plan to have a export
to XMI function in Dia ?
I have started to write this export function (with the 0.80 version of dia)
it is far from complete but if no one have already made it, i am ready to
make it.
What do you think about it ?
