A little bit off topic but noteworthy:
Helixcode's GNOME prerelease is awesome. The performance enhancement you
see with gdkpixbuf alone over "October GNOME" is well worth the upgrade to
this GNOME distribution.

You can either configure the new version with:
./configure --prefix=/usr
so that it installs over the top of the old version. Alternatively,
HelixCode has libxml and libxmld RPMs of version 1.8.6 that should be
compatible with SuSE. You could grab them there:
