Hello,

I'm currently using Dia 0.84 so the wishing list I have may contain
improvements already put in the CVS......

I'm using Dia to make UML figures. I have been using it quite
extensively the last few weeks and I have few remarks now to make its
use better or to make it produce nicer diagrams.
First of all I would like to thank you for the job done until now. Dia
is exactly what I need, it's very stable and produce in general what I
expect it to produce.

Here are my few remarks:
-Ergonomy:
The UML allows to use colors for representing classes... Is it what is
called layer ? If it is so, just forget the following remark otherwise,
it
could be very interesting to be able to add colors in the diagrams.

-Class representation:
Well, I like to use long and understandable variable name. I like also
to describe my classes in detail (method name, arguments name,
type....). This way of working is at the origin of very large classes
not easy to read on the screen and to print because Dia puts arguments
in rows instead of allowing the diagram writer to put them in columns if
he feels that this will produce more readable diagrams. This would be
very nice if
we could indent the arguments, put them one below the other for a given
method. This would make the diagram easier to read.

-Links:

It would be nice to have straight lines to join objects with each other.
This would be very valuable to make diagrams look better.

Once again, thanks for your job. I hope I don't appear to demanding...

Best regards

                Daniel Tourde
