It shouldnt matter. I am not looking to generate C code directly. In
GNU Enterprise our application server builds objects off its own class
definition file so I am only looking to build a class definition file
from a UML diagram.
I think in the mean time I will probably just build from the dia xml
file as it looks to have the necessary information I need to build, but
long term I would rather have it do internally. Also since our .cld
specification is quite similar to an IDL one could easily take the work
and make an IDL generator off a dia UML. Something I am sure people on
some level are complaining about.
I know this is a BIG deal in our project as the the OOP folks that are
used to windows all want Rational Rose because it can "build" things
from UML. BTW: I very much like DIA and hope during our use we can help
contribute to making it more of a tool for Enterprise System Design.
