New to Dia and this forum. Apologise if this one has already been asked.
I have been using Together Enterprise and Rational Rose on previous projects
and I am evaluating Dia for a new project.
I would like to know to create event trace diagrams in Dia. So far I have
been using lifeline, object and message tools but I would have expected the
property diagogue for the object instances to list classes that have been
defined. I should also have expected the properties dialogue of the message
instances to allow the selection of the operations available in the object
instance the message is directed at (as defined by the class it is
representing).
All this ensures that the class names and message names used in event trace
diagrams are valid.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I guess I'm not too sure what to
expect. The object modelling part is great and being able to generate C++
class definitions is too. Anything else is a bonus.
Otherwise I love the product. Seems lighter than Visio, operates on Linux and
Windoze2000 and saves as compressed XML.
