A couple of things worth mentioning..

firstly visio *should* *really* *soon* *now* switch to vml (vector markup
language), along with autocad and most diagram software people. It might
be quicker and better to start working on wml support in visio (pos as
plug in) now so that when others make the change not only are we
compatible but also we were there first. (showing that OSS *does*
innovate so there!)

secondly has anybody heard about or used Process Navigator?
http://www.processnavigator.com/english/index.html
Its commercial proprietary (almost certainly vc++/vb urk!) software that
enables you to get useful stuff out of visio - good thing, its also
cheapish and PHB friendly.

Finally has anybody else heard anything about using XML:RPC to interact
with visio using evil MS voodoo on a sacrificial NT box. This idea appeals
to me - ie a sacrificial NT box that handles gnarly perl:OLE and serves
out useful open formats from b0rken horrid proprietary data.

regards and apologies for adding too much traffic,

A.
