Hi,
I had the same problem. libxml 1.8.11 is installed by default in
/usr/local/lib. I found libxml 1.4 in /lib, or was it /usr/lib I don't
recall. I removed libxml 1.4 and moved libxml 1.8.11 into the directory
where the 1.4 version was. Problem fixed. So, you may have an older
version libxml hiding somewhere on your system. FYI, I'm running RedHat
6.1.
