All,
I have
to say that there are never enough good doctors; not in Egypt, not in the USA,
not in Europe and not anywhere.
One
thing that needs to evolve for diabetics is a clear training program which does
not just include surgical training but immunology, rheumatology,
anesthesiology, cardiology and pulmonology. Certification, exams,
continuing education and a reporting on the success rates and failure rates of
each physician needs to be instituted. Each area fitting
together in a puzzle to create a whole treatment plan for patient.
This
is where clinical centers for the treatment of diabetes can truly be of help to
people with diabetes, as well as an excellent training for physicians who care
to treat the whole patient. As patients and citizens of Egypt it is your
responsibility to try to facilitate the government to finance these
institutions. I am married to an Egyptian, not a citizen of Egypt, thus it
is clearly difficult for me to use connections to facilitate this, but everyone
in this group who have connections through the university, government,
advertising, hospitals, mosques, churches and other areas for prayer.
these areas are outlets for a grass roots development of a clear treatment which
is not blinded by the medical doctors fear of having their profession managed,
but transcended to the next level. It is true there are great Doctors in
Egypt. It is also true that it isn't for the Doctor to give all
the answers, it is the responsibility of each person to take their own
health into their hands...

Its a long time since hearing from
you.. how are you doing, hope everything is fine.
Hady I want to tell you that you
are probably reading my mind !!!.. you know what I was thinking of ???.. after
finding these continued incidents of careless decisions from some persons who
are supposed to be MD Professionals !
What I thought of and would like to
happen oneday is finding a way into which People can have a voice and act
against these non ethical persons.
If we can let people be aware that
.. not all doctors are always right .. a doctor's word IS NOT God's Word ..
the importancy of self health education .. Doctors will start to think more
before prescriping drugs of their sponsoring pharma companies only.... because
people will stop to go to them !!
I know the issue is not that
simple... and it will need finance.. and will need efforts... and time offcourse
for people to start realize what we are talking about...!!
But I am very excitied about your
proposal for a useful campaign to introduce all these conflicts to the people of
this country.... as you said in your message.

earn.3- The illiteracy we are still facing about making a check up evenafter the
doctor prescribes a medicine in dangerous situations by evenreading the papers
attached with any medicine carefully and referringto the doctor in cae of any
problems.
