Hi all, For all of the fast fiction fans on this list who participated in NaNoWrMo, and even those who didn't, here is an even bigger, or should I say, shorter challenge. The 3-Day Novel contest is, as the name implies, a competition to write a novel in three days.
However, in this contest, quality, not quantity, is king. If your novel is judged to be the best, the prize is that, rather than a mention on the website and the honor of the claim, YOU GET PUBLISHED! The contest takes place over Labor Day weekend, and you can have an outline prepared before you begin. You do need to register for this, and there is a fee and a deadline. Rather than muck up the bloody details, here's a link: http://www.bluelakebooks.com/3day/ Here's an interesting piece on the subject through which I found the contest in the first place: http://betweenborders.com/3daynovel/index.html His essay also mentions a 3-day contest in Australia which sounds interesting. Obl.Dis: I have no involvement with this contest, and no one's paid me to pimp it (unfortunately! ;-)). Found the information while surfing, and thought I'd pass it on. Maggie
