We have a Trac, Subversion and mailing list.
8 What is the process of accepting new members to your team?
Someone volunteers, gets to choose a translation and becomes a
member. If he is a regular translator (at least 4 modules) - he gets
commit rights to our internal svn.
9 Is there any particular area related to your team or language in which
you need advice or help?
Not sure what this means.

10 Do you run translation jams, marathons or other translation events?
We have in the past. Currently there is heightened translation
activity around GNOME releases, not exactly a jam.
11 How do you translate each GNOME release? Do you start just after the
string freeze or do you weekly/monthly do some translation work?
Mostly around string freeze.
12 Which programs or utilities do you use for translation?
emacs po-mode, hunspell, gettext tools. Other members use or have
used poEdit, gtranslator, Kbabel.

13 Does your team have translation guidelines, glossaries and/or
translation memories?
More or less. We discuss things amongst free software translators.
Other Bulgarian translation teams (KDE, OpenOffice) claim to have
specifications and guidelines. Terminology is discussed in a translators
list. The archive is searchable.
14 Does your team use any methods to keep track of translation problems
in your language?
Trac bugtracking
15 How does your team review translations?
It is mostly me that does review.
15.1 What process do you follow when reviewing?
I change what I decide. If a member objects we discuss things. I
try to respect translator's choices, however this is weighted against
the need for consistency.
16 Have you talked with your language official institution about the
terminology, tone and way to translate computer software?
Members of the Bulgarian OpenOffice team have tried, they describe
the process to be too bureaucratic to be of any practical use.
17 Do you run technical QA checks (such as the translation-toolkit
pofilter[3] tool)?
Mostly msgfmt -cvv. I will look into pofilter
== Damned Lies ==
18 Does your team use it?
Yes, this is a main tool.
18.1 Rating it from 1 (bad) to 5 (good), how would you evaluate the
Damned Lies helpfulness in accomplishing your tasks?
4. We use it for the statistics, we do not use the translation
functionality. The ordering of the statistics should be improved. As a
translator I am interested in the exact number of strings that need
attention, not relative translation status. 70% translation is
meaningless when you compare caribou (11 strings) to evolution (4500
strings).
19 Is there anything you would like to be implemented in it (i.e.
automatic glossaries)?
Proper ordering based on fuzzy+untranslated strings.

Cannot think of anything.

Yes.
I will also share my answers with the rest of our and other translation
teams. I will write back if anything interesting arises.
