Dear Dr. Karve, I agree with your viewpoint if the distance between biogas plant and consumption point is not too far. We have already put 12 such plant where we are distributing the gas through pipeline in 12 villages in Gujarat. We indigeneously developed GPRS i.e. Gas Pressure Regulating System. But in case distance between biogas plant and consumption point is far then it is advisable to upgrade the gas and bottle it. Upgradation is not an issue but supplying gas in cylinder at high pressure doesn't look too promising mainly because of heavy cylinders and safety issue.
I wonder if anyone in this forum has got the experience with Adsorbed Natural Gas, this is the only feasible solutions I could think of.
