G'day Edward,

Welcome to the list!

When asking for "best" you need to know how "best" is defined. When people ask me about engines and biogas I reply that you need to consider the FULL cost of cleaning the biogas (Capital, operating, consumables, maintenance and disposal of by-products) if the quality is OK compared to the slightly reduced engine life by doing nothing (along with all the savings in worry).

Similarly with digesters, you can have high tech (high rate) digesters or you can have much simpler (and cheaper?) systems doing the same thing.

All the best,
HOOROO

Dear All,
I'm a beginner in bio gas, I'm Indonesian country (south asia region),
in my country we are new for bio gas, so need more learn about this with
all aspects, I would like to know further about the:
1. As I read the CH4 (methane gas) make 23 times worse compare to CO2
due to GHG, could I get the technical explaination about this? How the
process in the atmosphere for GHG effect by CH4 and CO2?
2. In bio gas installation what is the best parameters of bio gas for
gas engine?
3. What is the best technology for bio gas project for palm oil mill
effluent? Raw material of palm oil mill effluent COD: 55000 ppm, pH: 4
to 5, Oil and grease below 1%

Hoping some body would not mind to give me the explaination.

Dear Mr. Tumwesige,

just chop up the material and feed it into the biogas plant. Everything
except the lignin would be turned into biogas. We regularly use green
leaves as feedstock. The midribs and veins accumulated in the biogas
plant
as undigested debris are removed by opening a drain valve at the bottom
of
the biogas plant.

Dear All,

I recently visited a floriculture farm which produces about ten
different
crops on the farm, however, there are three main crops i.e.poinsettia,
begonia and chrysanthemum.
These 3 crops generate about 2 tons of waste per week, though other
crops
have a small waste content. I have attached pictures of the generated
waste. The idea is to produce
biogas from this waste. I have not dealt with floriculture waste, I
will
be glad to get your advise.

Thanks
