What I am looking for is someone who can draft a "bill of materials", and appropriate "networking" details that would put about 22 computers - Macs and Windows and Linux? inside a 40-44 foot van. The van would be connected to broadband and would be tended by a responsible employee of the location where these would "sit".
Great idea, John
OFCOM (the Swiss federal office of communication) had a scheme called "Tour-de-Clic" where they had 12 Macs in a van leased from the post office touring round the Switzerland. Mostly showing off, really (the van was swallowing 80 litres of gasoil per 100 km, and they only stopped for one day in each town).
On the other hand, your project makes sense, as the vans will each stay in one place. Still, the OFCOM people might be able to tell you how they rigged their van. Their site is http://www.tour-de-clic.ch/ and the contact info, including e-mail address, is on http://www.tour-de-clic.ch/html/TDC_contact_f.html I think all three ladies understand and can write in, English.
cheers
Claude
