FYI:
Funded by a CASE fellowship (http:www.case-web.org) I wrote a case study on the world computer exchange last summer. It can be found at http://www.eecs.harvard.edu/~jraymond/case.
I essentially present some of the issues that can explain why matching a huge supply of discarded computers in industrialized countries and a healthy demand in developing countries is very difficult.
Note that it is a "teaching" case and so does not provide any conclusions or strong statements.
Please feel free to share any comments you might have with me.
Best regards,
Jean-Francois Raymond jraymond (at) eecs.harvard.edu
