To the many learned experts on this list, I wanted to bring to your attention an interesting, but unaddressed, issue on the DDN discussion boards. Henry Kumagai from CompuMentor and TechSoup asks:
Is anyone familiar with nonprofit organizations in the U.S. that are using technology in interesting ways to help their immigrant constituents? Some examples might be a message board to increase the cohesion of an immigrant group or a blog to inform people about current events in the community. I am also interested in learning more about digital divide issues vis-à-vis immigrant communities, as well as the converse, i.e., immigrant communities that generally have more tech literacy and how that may be changing the immigrant experience. Any leads or feedback appreciated! Thanks. - Henry If anyone has any thoughts or reflections on Henry's question, please reply by visiting the board here: http://www.digitaldivide.net/discussion/viewtopic.php?p=161 Thanks!
