hi everyone -
here are a couple of tips for adding links to your DDN profile (on the
Digital Divide
Network web site. http://www.digitaldivide.net)
1. choose links that reveal the contours of your professional interests in
the field of technology, community development and education
2. choose links to information, resources, or organizations that are not
so well known. linking to google or the new york times doesn't provide
information people don't already know
3. help make your own unique imprint on the Digital Divide Network community
with these links. you can do so by choosing sites that connect digital
divide
issues to areas that are not typically thought of as digital divide issues
-- health,
art, mental health, violence reduction, ecology, conflict resolution,
community
design, stress reduction, creativity, self-identity, etc.
4. you can get ideas for suitable links from many places, including blogs
and the
links of other DDN members
if you come across a DDN member whose links overlap yours a lot --
and if those links are not commonly known links -- then chances are you have
a lot of overlapping interests with that person. a beneficial synergy may be
worth exploring.
hope this helps,
- phil
