As I write this from Costa Rica, I'm wondering if there are any DDN members in Costa Rica who would like to get together over the next few days. While my itinerary is still being planned, I expect that I will be in Esteli, Nicaragua next week and Panama City, Panama the week after. So maybe I can meet some of the people around... fair warning; I don't know these areas really well. :-)
In other news, I'm pleased to report that the Bellanet study on Software Libre in the Latin American and Caribbean region is progressing well, and will be finalizing in October of this year. There are some interesting trends that are already being noted, such as the methods of use of Software Libre in the context of gender - nothing at all divisive, but different. The study is incomplete, so no formal conclusions have been made. Since there are multiple meetings throughout the region and I am effectively without a permanent address right now, I am considering travelling for the rest of the year throughout the Latin American and Caribbean region. -- Taran Rampersad [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.linuxgazette.com http://www.a42.com http://www.knowprose.com http://www.easylum.net "Criticize by creating." — Michelangelo Presently in: San Jose, Costa Rica _______________________________________________ DIGITALDIVIDE mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.edc.org/mailman/listinfo/digitaldivide To unsubscribe, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of the message.
