Thanks for sharing, Taran, that is fascinating, and
exciting.

I would see this as a probably logical next step in
the evolution of communication, following list-serves,
podcasting, etc.  

I wonder what impact this could have on the next
electoral cycle (or maybe the one-after-next,
depending on the speed of development) in a country
like Egypt or Belarus or Zimbabwe or Russia (or China,
assuming they even have an electoral cycle).  

After all, the presence of a single truly independent
TV station (Channel 5) made a lot of difference during
last year's political excitement in Ukraine (see the
report on our monitoring of a variety of different
channels at http://www.osce.org/item/4010.html and the
general statement our team issued after the elections
at http://www.osce.org/item/4011.html)

I would be reluctant to expect too much impact on US
politics, but it might make a big difference in
Lebanon or Morocco or Mexico....
