WebJunction Curriculum Manager Position
WebJunction is hiring immediately for a Curriculum Manager to support
the new Managing Public Access Computing Program (MPAC). We will accept
applications until June 10th and will set up telephone interviews with
qualified candidates. This position is located in the Seattle,
Washington office of WebJunction which is part of OCLC Online Computer
Library Center, Inc.
BACKGROUND: WebJunction is an online community supporting public access
computing where library staff meets to share ideas, solve problems, take
online courses, and have fun. The Managing Public Access Computing
Program (MPAC) will develop a competency and skills-based framework to
be used in constructing staff assessment and learning opportunities.
The MPAC Curriculum Manager position reports to the MPAC Project
Coordinator and is full-time (with excellent benefits) for 31 months
through December 2007.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
∑ Develop the overall curriculum for MPAC including national needs
assessment and determination of competencies and skills for each program
area
∑ Oversee development of online assessments of competencies and skills
∑ Create process for skills capture and reporting for individual staff
and organizations
∑ Oversee development of selected online courses based on gap analysis
∑ Assist Project Coordinator in creating the MPAC user experience on
WebJunction
REQUIREMENTS:
∑ Bachelors of Arts required. MLIS a plus.
∑ Minimum 2 years experience leading teams.
∑ 3–5 years experience in curriculum development. E-learning experience
a plus.
∑ 2 years experience conducting needs assessments and/or focus groups.
∑ Interest in and experience with public access computing essential.
∑ Strong analytical, written, organizational and communications skills.
∑ Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and
independently.
∑ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a wide
variety of groups and individuals.
∑ Knowledge of online communities, communication technologies, and
content and learning management systems important.
